FMYTECHSUPPORT - Share your tech support grievances, on both ends of the phone...
Someone asked me for help with their Android tablet. I got a call from him later complaining that it still wasn'​t working. I asked him to read me what the error in the app said. He said, "​Well, I downloaded a different app that does the same thing and it'​s not working."​
So... you asked me for help, did your own thing and now are asking me to help you again. How about you do what I suggested before coming back to me with complaints?

A user emailed the helpdesk to complain that his Outlook mailbox is full yet again. He wrote, "​We need to deal with this again!!!!!! Ugh!

Why can'​t they fix this?"​




There is nothing to fix. You are allotted a certain amount of storage on the server like everyone else. If you maintained your mailbox regularly, you wouldn'​t have this issue. That'​s like never doing the dishes and letting them pile up until you have no more clean dishes and then getting mad at the sink for filling up and forcing you to wash all of your dishes at once. Do some maintenance as you go and you won'​t have this problem.

This is not exactly tech support related blasphemy, but still just as annoying. I happened to be going back and forth with a customer for over 48 hours about her order. She continues to badger me that there are in fact 2 orders, 1 of which I am completely unaware of. This morning I get the following email:



Hi ******,

There should be two orders GAP390AL001 and GAP390AL001. What is so difficult to understand here. Not one order!!!! The two listed above are in house!!! You are either blind or just ignorant.

Now I have been called many things in my life, but blind or ignorant is not one of them, until now. I read the email over 3 times, convinced that I am not reading it correctly. The two orders she keeps continuously annoying me about are the SAME FUCKING NUMBER!!
Whats is even more ironic is her signature. It reads "​GEIGER GETS IT"​. If she got it, stop emailing me this nonsense, ya dumb truck-stop whore. I have more important things to do than read emails from scum like you.
OH MAN THE THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO TELL THIS IGNORANT BITCH!

Everyone else, when sending an email to the helpdesk will give a brief description of the problem. You'​re the only one that never does. Instead, your emails just have "​can someone call me?"​ in the subject line. Do you know how abnoxious that is? If someone has an issue and lets me know about it, it saves us both time because I don'​t have to pull information from them. Just tell me what the problem you'​re having is!!!

I ordered this all-in-one card reader from for its ability to read Smartmedia cards: http://www.rakuten.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=232609655
As you can see from the title and the description, their website clearly states that this reader can read Smartmedia cards. When I received the order, it was a completely different card reader that did not have the capability to read Smartmedia cards: http://www.rakuten.com/prod/imicro-all-in-one-usb-2-0-external-card-reader-ext-ai1-cs-blue/216238250.html

I called their returns department and this is how the conversation went:

Me: "​I ordered this card reader specifically because you advertised that it reads Smartmedia cards. I received a completely different one than the one pictured that does not read those cards."​

Rep: "​Sir, can you describe the one you did receive?"​

Me: "​It'​s a small blue card reader with a model number...(read her the model number)"​

Rep: "​Well, sir, the card reader you ordered is also blue."​

Me: "​I'​m not calling to return it because of the color. I'​m returning it because it doesn'​t do what I need it to. Color is not a factor in my return."​

I didn'​t order it because I like blue electronics.
WTF??? Why are we even having this conversation? I ordered something, you sent me something else. I want my money back. Who cares if the colors match? If you paid for a red Porsche and instead got a red Ford Focus, would you be happy because they'​re the same color? Not to mention the fact that I payed more than double for the item you DID send me than YOU LIST IT FOR ON YOUR WEBSITE!!!

The network drives in our office are down. I sent out an email to let the office know saying, "​All network drives are down at the moment and we are working to get them back online ASAP. We appreciate your patience. We will notify you as soon as they are back up and running."​
We have been getting emails and calls every 2 minutes since asking for an update... Don'​t these people realize that the time I spend responding to these emails and answering calls takes away from time I could use to resolve the issue???
